History
A quick look at past events and prior happenings of St. Paul Catholic School.
In 1963, Sacred Heart Parish in Pensacola, Florida was divided and Fr. Frank Giri was named pastor of the new parish, St. Paul. The first masses of St. Paul Catholic Church were held in a home on Bayou Boulevard until the church was built in 1964. St. Paul School opened its doors in August 1964 to 162 students in grades 1-5. St. Paul School was noted as the first air-conditioned school in Pensacola. It was referred to as the “hidden church” because there was no paved road to the site. Today there are almost 300 students, grades K-8, enrolled in St. Paul School. Many of these students are the second generation of their families to attend the school. Since its founding SPCS has graduated more than 1300 students. |
