Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

St. Paul's Level I Atrium opens on November 15, 2021. Classes will meet at 9am on Mondays.

What is CGS?

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Montessori-based approach to the religious formation of children, rooted in Sacred Scripture, Liturgy, and respect for the child’s rich relationship with God. Our level I Atrium will serve children age 3-6.

A Place Prepared

In the early Church, the faithful were prepared for initiation into the life of the Church in a place prepared for the spiritual life. As their means of entrance into the church, they called this place the “atrium.” Just so, when children are prepared for participation in the church community, the place should be prepared to help children pray. Our parish atrium serves as this prepared space for children in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.

A Progressive Structure

As a new member of the Atrium (our prepared space for catechesis), your child will start with 30-minute weekly sessions. As children become oriented to our Atrium environment, we will begin to meet for longer sessions, eventually lasting up to 2 hours.
