Adult Faith Formation & OCIA

INVITED.png

Order of Christian Initiation for Adults...O.C.I.A., is the program that the Catholic Church uses to share our faith with our non-Catholic brothers and sisters. If you've ever wondered about God, the Bible, or what Catholics believe, you're welcome to come and explore. There's no pressure, no obligation to join the Church—just a place to ask questions and learn.

Most unbaptized adults prepare for Baptism, Confirmation, and First Holy Communion through OCIA. Preparation is a journey of learning, prayer, and discernment, with the sacraments typically celebrated at the Easter Vigil Mass, the evening before Easter Sunday.

If you are a validly baptized Christian and interested in the Catholic Church we can help you prepare for the sacraments of Holy Communion and/or Confirmation.

You may register below or contact Debbie Ridder in the parish office for questions or concerns,(850) 434-2551 ext.104 or ridderd@stpaulcatholic.net

Adult Confirmations are scheduled at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, in Pensacola. Each baptized Catholic not yet confirmed can and should receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Baptism, the Eucharist, and the Sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the “sacraments of Christian initiation". â€‹â€‹

Anyone preparing to receive Baptism and Confirmation in the Catholic Church will need a Catholic sponsor who meets the Church's requirements (outlined on the Sponsor Form). If you don't have a family member or friend who is able to serve in this role, we can help find a sponsor in our parish community.
